Teacher accused of sexual contact with 2 students pleads no contest
MILWAUKEE - The teacher accused of having sexual contact with two students pleaded no contest in court on Friday.
Megan Garland taught at Messmer, but was caught in a car performing sex acts on a 14-year-old student back in May. A 15-year-old boy also later came forward saying between May 17 and 23, Garland had sexual contact with him as well as the 14-year-old, who was a friend of his.
Garland's lawyer said in court she was entering the no contest plea rather than a guilty plea because of possible personal injury lawsuit she could be facing, according to the Journal Sentinel.
The 29-year-old is expected to be sentenced Jan. 3.
