GREEN BAY - Organizers are hoping to break a world record for the largest Zumba class when participants gather in a Lambeau Field parking lot.

The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is one of the groups sponsoring `Zumba Day by the Bay' Saturday in the stadium's west lot. Chamber spokesman Dan Terrio says the current record for the fitness dance is 6,671 participants set in 2012 in Hyderabad, India.

With 2,700 registered so far, Terrio is hoping a lot of participants will register on site to help set a new Guinness Book of World Records. He says the 2 p.m. event is open to people of all ages and doesn't require any experience.

Organizers tell Press-Gazette Media (http://post.cr/14MBV5k ) the event is aimed at promoting the city as an active community.
