MILWAUKEE - Akaia Dortch is reliving the pain of losing her mother all over again.

Dortch put everything she owned, including her mother's ashes into storage at U-Haul on Capitol Drive.

It was about a month later when she noticed something wasn't right.

"As I started to move stuff around I noticed there were several items missing." She said.

That included some valuables and her mother's urn.

"All of that can be replaced, but I can't essentially replace my mom." Dortch said.

Even more bizarre, the padlock on the door doesn't appear to have been tampered with.

There are also no signs of any sort of break in at the unit which is located in a gated off area.

Dortch asked the manager of the storage unit to review the security camera footage. She said she was told it would take too long.

That changed after TODAY'S TMJ4 inquired about reviewing the video footage. The manager said he will watch the video to help Dortch figure out what happened to her belongings and her mothers urn.
