Woman from Racine charged with delivering marijuana in book
RACINE -- A woman from Racine tried to smuggle pot to someone in jail, and then she wound up in her own cell.
The Racine Journal Times says Serena Contreras packaged marijuana joints in the spine of a book, and had them shipped to Alberto Galvan, an inmate at the Racine County Jail.
Staff at the jail noticed a bulge in the spine and a "funny smell."
Contreras now faces up to 5 1/2 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
