Witness to hit-and-run that lead to shootout tells her story

ELKHORN - Friends call the images of a police chase involving Dawn Pfister and her boyfriend, Matthew Serbus, shocking and horrifying.

Charles Otto was a friend of the Elkhorn woman and said Pfister and Serbus met on New Year's Eve.
"It was very sudden." said Otto, describing the whirlwind romance.
Serbus and Pfister were chased by Police after hitting another car Friday morning on a Minnesota highway.
It ended after Police used a pit maneuver to disable the car. DOT video shows Serbus crashing into a retaining wall.
Police fired shots after the two emerged from the vehicle.
The officers who fired their weapons have been put on routine administrative leave.
The incident remains under investigation.
Pfister leaves behind two children, 12 and 9 year old.
