GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Hundreds of trees from Wisconsin are being shipped to military families to help brighten their Christmas.

Press-Gazette Media reports about 200 trees were shipped Monday from Green Bay to Fort Carson, Colo., as part of the Trees for Troops program.

Paul Schroeder, of North Countree Christmas Inc. near Wausaukee, says Wisconsin tree growers are expected to contribute about 400 trees to the program this year.

Schroeder says more than 120,000 trees have been sent to service members since the program started in 2005.
