Wintry mix makes for messy commute
The wintry mix of weather made for a messy morning commute, caused power outages, and delayed schools.
In Racine county, the bad weather delayed two schools: Kansasville Grade School and Union Grove Elementary. It caught some people off guard who hadn't planned on a late start.
"I was kind of surprised, said Union Grove school cook Shelly Jacobson. The side streets were kind of slick. The main roads weren't too bad but you had to follow the tracks."
Kristie Martin dropped off her child at Union Grove. She works in Illinois so the late start made her day start even later.
Tobie Nigro considers herself a terrible snow driver so she made sure she was very careful navigating the roads in Union Grove. She said you have to keep this winter in perspective.
"If you remember all the winters beforehand, how many winters are really bad? Everybody says they are bad every single winter. So which one is really bad?"
