WHITNALL - The Whitnall High School block party is always a good time, but on today's fourth annual event, students will get something extra along with a good time: a message.

Braeger Automotive Group sponsors the event, and they're using the sponsorship as a chance to talk to students about the dangers of texting and driving.
"Students, parents, families, friends, coworkers, anybody and everybody that we can." says sales Manager Jamie Enders.
The danger is real. If you send a text while traveling sixty miles per hour, you could travel the length of three to five football fields before your eyes are back on the road.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
"There's other ways to use technology in vehicles nowadays in order to not text and drive," says Enders. "You don't have to pick up the phone and take your eyes of that road."
Enders says they'll give everyone at the block party the opportunity to take the pledge to stop texting and driving.
