WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- Wausau police are looking for the person who shot a family's puppy.

The six-month-old dog was shot with a pellet gun Tuesday and was so severely injured that it had to be euthanized. The dog's owner, Stacy Bell, tells WSAW-TV the hardest part about losing Jack is trying to explain the incident to her children. Bell says the puppy may have been targeted because it was barking.
