Waukesha woman accused of running discount dentistry from home
WAUKESHA -- Police went undercover to catch a woman providing cut-rate orthodontics from her home.
Police claim Noemi Lares, 35, turned her Waukesha home into a discount dental office.
In an affidavit obtained by TODAY’S TMJ4, investigators claim the woman admitted to installing braces on children and adults for about $900, far less than the going rate.
Police maintain Lares does not have a General Dentist license required to do orthodontic work.
Local orthodontists tipped off police when patients started coming to them. Children complained of botched braces jobs, including inflamation, pain, and gum disease.
An undercover officer posed as a customer and went to the woman’s home. They spotted orthodontic tools throughout the woman’s living room, where Lares reportedly did her work.
Lares refused to comment. Meanwhile, the Waukesha County District Attorney is reviewing the woman’s case.
