Waukesha teen battling liver disease becomes stalker's target
WAUKESHA - A Waukesha girl battling a serious illness ends up as the target of a stalker.
Police say 30-year-old Shannon Bailey became obsessed with a 13-year-old Waukesha girl suffering from liver disease after finding her on the website CaringBridge.org - which serves as an online support-group.
"To think that someone can really victimize you from one of those - you wouldn't expect that. I mean, I wasn't aware that a stranger could gain access to that," says Shanda Louis.
Louis and her daughter, Shay, live next door to the young girl Bailey is accused of stalking. They've been on-edge since seeing him in their neighborhood repeatedly.
"He had this big like tarp and he had stuff on it. And he was just sitting on the curb, and his head was down."
Bailey was also caught outside of Oak Creek Assembly of God, where the girl often attends church with her family.
Police say Bailey's Facebook page is full of messages to the girl, one reading "I love her so much I could kiss her, I love her so much I could hug her... I could do a whole lot more for her well-being because I love her. Is this really a crime? Of course not."
