Waukesha stabbing victim upgraded to fair condition
WAUKESHA -- The 12 year-old victim of multiple stab wounds has been upgraded from "stable" to "fair" condition at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Meanwhile, the arrest of two 12 year-old girls charged with trying to kill their friend by stabbing her 19 times continues to rock Waukesha.
"As a parent, I just hold my kids a little closer but for the grace of god," said Roger Preameah, a neighbor of the victim.
On the victim's quiet Cul De Sac block, neighbors are shocked to find out they know the little girl who crawled out of the woods after being viciously attacked.
"They moved in about a year ago or so," Preameah said. "It's always been a busy family house, a lot of family visiting."
Since Saturday, Preameah realized something was different about the house on the corner.
"[There has been] much less traffic, in fact, I thought they might be on vacation, haven't seen anybody around," Preameah said.
"I just hope she recovers and the family is able to...find strength in some way and move on," Preameah said.
