Waukesha Co. deputy involved in shooting
TOWN OF VERNON -- A male was shot and injured by a Waukesha County Deputy Monday night.
The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. after a woman called requesting for a well-being check of her roommate who never returned home.
According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, three deputies found the man, 52, sitting inside his car in a wooded area off of Hillview Drive.
At a news conference Monday afternoon, the Waukesha County sheriff said the deputy who fried the shot felt threatened from the actions of the suspect, who had been drinking.
Officials confirmed one shot was fired and the victim was hit in his left forearm.
The suspect is expected to survive. No deputies were hurt.
The investigation is ongoing.
