UWM Grad maybe the next in line to head Microsoft
MILWAUKEE -- A former grad student from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is being seen by many as the heir apparent to become the next CEO at one of the world's best-known companies.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says Satya Nadella could be the candidate named by Microsoft to replace out-going CEO Steve Ballmer.
Nadella has been working at Microsoft since 1992, and he currently heads up the company's enterprise and cloud computing division.
If he is chosen by the company - he will be the third CEO in the company's history. It will also be the most high-profile exectuvie to come from UWM.
Nadella has returned to Milwaukee a few times since recieving a post-graduate degree, most recently in 2013 to receive the Chancellor's Innovator Award. He also pledged to bring some of the innovations going on at the school to the attention of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
