MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- University of Wisconsin System officials expect to release the names of finalists vying for the system president post this week.

System spokesman David Giroux says officials plan to release the names on Thursday. The Board of Regents is expected to make a hiring decision in January.

Current UW System President Kevin Reilly announced in July he will resign at the end of the year. Reilly endured intense criticism from Republican legislators this spring for allowing system campuses to build massive reserves while raising tuition year after year.
