Neighbors react to deadly Waukesha County crash
GENESEE- Skid marks and shattered glass are the only signs left of Wednesday morning’s deadly crash on Sunset Drive, but it is the images of twisted metal that has Erin Ridosko concerned.
“I took a look outside and was like oh my goodness,” said Ridosko.
Investigators say a 23-year-old woman driving a silver Chevrolet westbound may have been going too fast around the sharp curve when she lost control, crossed the middle line into oncoming traffic and slammed into a Toyota sedan. The driver and her passenger both died.
Many living near the accident site tell TODAY'S TMJ4 there have been a number of accidents on that stretch of road over the years.
“If you have not slowed your speed down then it's going to be tricky to go around that curve.”
Hours after the crash the victim’s sister received a flood of support on Twitter and Facebook. She wrote in response that not only did she lose her sister in the crash, but also her boyfriend, who was a passenger in the car.
Meanwhile, some wonder of more can be done to prevent the next accident from being deadly.
“Maybe, just a few more signs before the curve beside the one that is there.”
