Trial begins for man accused in Family Dollar clerk murder
UPDATE: The court found Jones guilty as charged. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 11 at 8:30 a.m.
MILWAUKEE - One of the men accused in the murder of an employee at a Family Dollar store on Milwaukee’s south side is set to go to trial Monday.
On Aug. 6, Milwaukee Police were called to the Family Dollar Store on Oklahoma Avenue. Employee William Melendez had been shot in the head during an armed robbery.
Mikal Hasun Jones is charged with being the getaway driver for the robbery. Another man shot and killed Melendez.
