MILWAUKEE -- Train service between Milwaukee and Chicago just got a little bit more convenient.

The 90-mile Amtrak Hiawatha route -- which provides daily round-trips between the cities -- will now offer free Wi-Fi.

“We are excited to provide this free Wi-Fi access to our Hiawatha riders,” said WisDOT Secretary Mark Gottlieb in a press release. “A convenient connection to the web is something today’s traveling public has come to expect, in particular those traveling on business."

In addition to Wisconsin, Amtrak installed the Wi-Fi equipment under contracts with the states of Illinois, Michigan and Missouri, the release said.
