MADISON – Santa Claus has started his journey around the world to deliver presents to children. Thanks to some help from the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or “NORAD”, Santa’s progress can be tracked up to the minute. NORAD has been tracking Santa’s flight every Christmas Eve since the 1950’s.

New technology will allow children to follow his journey multiple ways. In addition to a Santa tracking website, you can call 1-877-HI-NORAD to get updates from a live person. Information is also available on NORAD's Facebook and Twitter pages.

Governor Scott Walker has also put out the order for “Operation Santa” to begin in Wisconsin on Christmas Eve.

The Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs reports Governor Walker directed the Wisconsin National Guard and Wisconsin Emergency Management to assist Santa as he makes his way through the Badger State.
