Tow truck operators thrive during cold snap
WAUKESHA - John Jacobsen is in the area on business, and now gets to spend one more day in sunny Wisconsin before heading back to Minnesota.
“My vehicle gelled up, diesel fuel. It’s too cold,” said John Jacobsen.
He’s not the only one calling Elder’s Service in Waukesha needing a tow.
“Quite a few break-downs, accidents, people going in the ditches. People just driving too fast for the conditions,” said owner Tim Elder.
His six drivers are working about 12 hour shifts, and they are taking trucks home to make the overnight calls.
While this frigid weather has the rest of us shivering, it just makes Elder smile, saying business is good.
Jacobsen was happy to see the tow truck in less than an hour, but he has already booked his hotel for another night
“We’ll see how quickly they can get my vehicle thawed out.”
