Sergeant Mark Horstmann with the Verona Police Department said the city is doing 'pretty well' and has received a lot of help from outside agencies.

"Right now we have staffing plans in place for providing security and safety for the neighborhood," he said.

Horstmann said the police department's biggest concerns are the homes that are not safe to be in.

"We want to make sure the people that don't belong in there stay away from there and that other people are safe," he said.
