Threats lead to police presence around Milwaukee County Courthouse

UPDATE: A witness reported to a Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy that two men on 9th Street, near the Milwaukee County Courthouse, may have displayed a firearm around 11:30 a.m. Friday, according to a release from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

The witness reported the suspects left in a white vehicle.  

Officials said the courthouse was not shut down or under lockdown, but one entrance/exit to a parking structure was briefly closed while a search for the suspects was conducted.
Two suspects were detained, questioned and then released when police determined they were not involved.

The investigation is ongoing.


UPDATE: Bruce Harvey in the chief judge's office told TODAY'S TMJ4 there were reported threats during a homicide hearing inside Judge Borowski's courtroom Friday. He said they "thought somebody went down to the parking structure to get a gun."

Harvey said there were no reports there were actual guns and he had no indication that any arrests had been made.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is still investigating and will continue to monitor security footage. 

MILWAUKEE --  Deputies are searching the area around the Milwaukee County Courthouse after there were reports that someone with a gun got past security Friday afternoon.

Initial reports said there was a man or men with guns outside the courthouse around 11:15 a.m.
