WAUSAU -- A high school religion teacher has been ordered to stand trial on child pornography charges in Marathon County.

Fifty-year-old Michael Switalski waived his right to a preliminary hearing during a court appearance Wednesday in court. The Newman Catholic High School teacher is accused of having nearly 100 photos and 12 DVDs containing sexually explicit images of boys.

A criminal complaint says Switalski was one of hundreds of customers who bought the material from Azov Films in Toronto, which was raided in 2012. Daily Herald Media reports police say more than 300 Azov customers in more than a dozen countries have been arrested as a result of the raid.

Defense attorney Richard Lawson asked Judge Greg Huber to reduce Switalski's $75,000 cash bond. That request is under consideration.
