WAUKESHA -- It has been six days since a bicyclist found a girl in Waukesha bleeding, stabbed 19 times. Now the community is coming together to help her on her long road of healing.

The victim is in fair condition while she recovers her at the hospital. Well-wishers from around the world are praying for her speedy recovery.

"Hearts for Healing" is the official GoFundMe page created to help the family with medical and legal expenses. People donated over $24,000 in the first 24.

Another way to share support is making a homemade heart out of fabric or paper.

“Purple is her favorite color,” says family spokesperson Dana Hoffman.

“We’re trying to get as many people as possible to send purple hearts in any shape, size or material so [she] can see how much support she has.”

The hearts will be hung in her hospital room.
