GLENDALE -- Reports of a reckless driver and a stolen vehicle led police on a hunt for four robbery suspects Wednesday morning.

Police located the car around 6 a.m. near Port Washington Road and Hampton Avenue, where it crashed into a light pole.

Four teens, ages 15, 16, 17 and 18, fled from the vehicle. While three suspects were caught after a foot chase, police and K-9 dogs combed neighborhoods trying to locate the remaining 17-year-old suspect.

A short while later, police caught the last suspect walking along the bank of the Milwaukee River. He waded into the water to hide, but it didn't work, and he was caught soaking wet.

"It’s just unusual,” said Bud Brauer, who lives in the neighborhood. “It just is. I mean, there's always a lot of traffic around here, but typically, everybody stays where they're supposed to be and on the street and not running into poles."
