MILWAUKEE - A statewide tornado drill is being planned by the National Weather Service for Thursday.
At 1:00 p.m. Thursday, the NWS will issue a statewide mock tornado watch.
At 1:45 p.m., a mock tornado warning will be issued. At that time, television viewers and and radio listeners will hear a message indicating that "This is a test." Sirens in your community may be activated as well.
The mock warning will last about one minute, and stations will return to regular programming when it is finished.
Alerts for both the mock watch and warning will also be issued over NOAA weather radios.
The drill is scheduled to take place even if the sky is cloudy, dark, or rainy, and will end by 2:00 p.m.
