State Sen. Joe Leibham will not seek a recount in the 6th Congressional District election.

A press release from Leibham's office said he had contacted Senator Glenn Grothman to inform him of the decision and "wished him well."

"I am humbled to have been a candidate for the 6th District and I am proud of the positive campaign we conducted," Leibham said in the statement. "I value the confidence expressed in me by so many voters and truly appreciate the tremendous support offered by so many dedicated volunteers and friends over the past four months."

Grothman later released a statement thanking Leibham for his decision.

“I want to thank Sen. Leibham for a great campaign," Leibhman said. "As I said last week, I think all of the candidates in this race ran campaigns to be proud of."

"We discussed pressing, important issues that our country is facing right now and the need for urgent action in Congress. I am grateful that Sen. Leibham has chosen not to seek a recount in this race and I wish him well in his future endeavors."
