Some Harley-Davidson fans head home by boat
MILWAUKEE - Motorcyclists who roared along Milwaukee's streets have put on the brakes and parked their bikes on a giant ship as it treks across the water.
"The town was great," says Don Brooks. "It has been every time. I've been here since the 95th."
Brooks was among the early risers to take advantage of the boat. He and others waved goodbye and took with them memories of a fun weekend.
"We went to the Harley-Davidson dealers. We went to the museum. We went to the big party and last night, we went to a concert and head a really good time," explains Jeannine Asher.
Stepping on the ferry home this Labor Day can feel bittersweet.
"I'm 70. I don't know if I'll make the next one," says Brooks. "That'll make me 75, so."
The last scheduled ferry departs Monday at 7:00 p.m. for Muskegon, Michigan.
