Slinger students hire mariachi band as senior prank
SLINGER - "There hasn't been a senior prank in over 25 years," says senior Brady Ruttler. She wanted to pull off a prank everyone would remember.
"Normally they are bad or they wreck something, but we didn't want to do something that would get us into trouble," Ruttler said.
So they lured Slinger High School Principal Philip Ourada away from his office. He returned to a mariachi band.
"We had a group of seniors following him in saying, "gotcha!" Ruttler said.
"Low and behold they had a little surprise for me. They started playing and my jaw dropped," Ourada said.
The three piece mariachi band didn't just play one or two songs, they followed the principal around for 2 hours.
"We decided to take a tour of the school, this is seniors last day," Ourada said.
Students gathered around the band and Ourada and danced to songs like the "Macarena" and the "chicken dance."
"It was truly a memorable experience," Ourada said.
"Nothing can top our Mexican mariachi band," Ruttler said.
