Sheboygan fire crews rescue woman from burning home

SHEBOYGAN -- A woman and her two cats were rescued from a Sheboygan house early Monday.

The blaze broke out around 7 a.m. near Michigan Avenue and 7th Street.

According to the Sheboygan Fire Department, there was fire and dense, black smoke blowing from the back of the house.

Crews identified a woman trapped in a second floor bedroom and extended their ladder to a second floor window.

She was assisted out the window and down the ladder.

The woman was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
