SHEBOYGAN - "It's so special.  I'm a Badger fanatic.  I'm a Sam fanatic," said Nick Verhagen.

Sheboygan Lutheran Coach Nick Verhagen can brag, he played a role in helping one of the Badger's star players hone his skills.

"Coaching Sam was a unique opportunity.  One of the hardest workers.  A kiddo who came into the gym first, and leaves last," Verhagen explains.

Verhagan coached Dekker with Sam's dad, and is still very close with the whole family and explains Dekker deserves this time to shine.

"He deserves it all.  He comes from a great background with his family, his spirit and he deserves all the things he's getting now."

Coach Verhagen boasts Dekker is not just a good player, but a good person.  He was a good student and a role model for his players to look up to.  A reason coach is betting on Dekker and the Badgers.

"I'll say Badgers by 7, then we get to see them cut the nets down Monday as well."
