WADSWORTH - A Sheboygan County man was at the center of a big standoff on the Wisconsin-Illinois border.

The Lake County Sheriff's Department says 24-year-old Justin Koch locked himself inside a bathroom at a BP/McDonalds on Route 41 in Wadsworth early Friday night. Deputies tried to communicate with the man, but he would not respond.

At one point Koch ignited a firework inside the stall and threw it at the deputies because he says he was scared. Negotiators eventually convinced Koch to leave the stall, and he was arrested.

He faces several charges, including Aggravated Battery to a police officer. Koch is scheduled to appear in bond court today.
