Sentencing soon for man in Madison home robbery
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A 24-year-old Wisconsin man convicted of four felonies in connection with a February home invasion and assault of a couple will likely be sentenced in two months.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports that Eric D. Bass of Madison faces up to 40 years of combined prison and extended supervision on each of two robbery charges and up to 60 years on each of two sexual assault charges.
Bass and three other men mistakenly entered a home owned by a sleeping couple instead of a man they were told kept large amounts of cash in his house. The man was beaten and his pregnant wife was sexually assaulted. The four men then took off with electronics and credit cards.
Bass pleaded no contest Aug. 6 to conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery and two counts of being a party to first-degree sexual assault.
