MILWAUKEE -- Rodolfo Gomez, Jr. lost his MPD badge after 11 years on the job.

This morning, Gomez and his attorney took a step to avoid losing his honor, too, pleading not guilty to charges of misconduct.

Prosecutors accuse Gomez of punching Deron Love, who sat handcuffed in an interrogation room (Love faces his own charges of killing a baby).

The incident took place last year, and security cameras may have recorded the whole thing. Today, Gomez and his legal team expressed concern about the video: they want the recordings broken down frame by frame to provide a clear picture.

Pre-trial motions must be filed by April 10th; Gomez's trial begins May 5th.
