Robbery suspect shot, killed by victim in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE -- A string of robberies turned deadly Monday morning.
The same group of suspects behind the spree struck again, but when they tried to rob a man, he fired, killing one of them in a parking lot near 2nd Street and National Avenue.
Police said the man who killed the teen was defending himself.
"At this point the police department believes that the suspects involved in that robbery and the now deceased person were involved in other robberies across our city and overnight," explains Captain Aaron Raap of the Milwaukee Police Department.
Captain Raap says this robbery could be connected to several south side and north side robberies - including two armed robberies that happened overnight at Marquette. Students, including Michelle Miller, are concerned.
"I mean, it's scary, but things happen everywhere, so it's good to be warned," expresses Miller.
Police think there were more than four suspects involved in the robbery spree, some have already been arrested.
They also said the suspects and robbery victim somehow knew each other.
