Revenue flat at Potawatomi's casino
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Gambling revenue has dipped slightly at the Potawatomi Indian's off-reservation casino in Milwaukee.
Gamblers lost nearly $363 million in the fiscal year ending June 30th, compared with $368 million the previous year. Fitch Ratings analyst Michael Paladino says the revenue trend is similar to the rest of the country. He says casino earnings have been flat elsewhere.
The Journal Sentinel reports that although revenue has dipped at the Milwaukee casino, it's been enough to support payments of about $70,000 annually to the tribe's 1,500 members.
The Potawatomi are building a hotel next to the casino that's scheduled to open next year. The Potawatomi reservation is in Forest County.
