Racine man in custody after tactical situation
RACINE – A Racine man is in custody Thursday after a reported domestic abuse case caused a tactical situation in the downtown area, police confirmed.
Police responded to the domestic abuse call just before midnight Wednesday night. A woman in her 30s was taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for treatment, while police say the male suspect ran back into a home on Harborview Drive.
SWAT and Crisis Negotiators were called after officers learned the suspect may have had access to weapons. Thankfully, the suspect was taken into custody peacefully.
Employees at the Radisson Harbourwalk, 223 Gas Light Cir., were told they weren’t allowed in the hotel Thursday morning as a result of the incident.
Police say the case is an active investigation. There's no word on the condition of the woman.
