RACINE –  The Racine Zoo has announced the names of its three lion cubs born on July 7.

The public submitted 190 possible names through the Pride of Racine “Name the Cubs” contest earlier this month. Upon review, the three names that were chosen originated from the Swahili or Bantu language.

The female cub has been named Zuri, meaning beautiful. One male cub has been named Enzi, meaning power and the second male was named Hodari, meaning strong.

The three winners of the contest received a prize package from the Zoo and Johnson Bank.

The general public can view the lion cubs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily starting Saturday, August 23.
