CALEDONIA -Slick roads and snowy conditions triggered several pileups and crashes along I-94 in Racine County Sunday.

It happened South of Seven Mile Road. More than thirty cars and nearly a dozen tractor trailers end up smashing into one another and in ditches.

Along the five mile stretch of road, one person died, dozens more were injured.

Luis Alanis was a passenger on a bus on it's way to Indiana. He described the road conditions before his bus crashed as frightening.

"I was on my phone and next thing I knew, I looked up and just swerving through cars, dodging cars and we end up in a ditch."

I-94 East bound was closed for more than seven hours as emergency crews tried to clean up the mess. It reopened just before 6 pm.
