Brookfield police warn of fake cop calling residents
BROOKFIELD - Police are warning of a man calling residents in Brookfield claiming to be a police officer or sheriff's deputy.
According to the victims, a man called claiming they owed money for unpaid taxes, and a warrant could be issued for their arrest if not paid. Another victim claimed he was called by a man saying there were three warrants out for his wife's arrest.
The man has referred to himself as "Jack Marshall" or "Officer Tim O'Brien."
According to Brookfield Police, the calls are a scam, and no money should be sent. If you receive one of the calls, the departments asks you call them at 262-787-3702.
