Police warn about 911 scam
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Police said robocalls have been calling area residents Friday morning.
The calls were warning people that their credit has been suspended. The message then asks you to press a number and reroutes the call to local 911 centers.
Received a call about your credit card asking you to dial 112? Don't do it. It's a scam that reroutes your call to 911. Ignore the message.— Milwaukee Police (@MilwaukeePolice) April 11, 2014
Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn said surrounding counties are also being affected.
Police said that if you recieve a call like this, hang up.
