Shorewood police search for armed robbery suspect

SHOREWOOD -- Police are searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery Friday morning.

The suspect entered  through the back door of Hayek's Pharmacy, 4001 N Downer Ave., around 9 a.m., displayed a small revolver and demanded perscription drugs, according to a release from the Shorewood Police Department.

The suspect fired one round of bullets into the floor while waiting for employees to gather the perscription drugs. Upon receiving, he fled out the same back door.

The suspect is described as a male, 5-foot-9, with an average build. He was wearing multiple hooded sweatshirts, a black ski mask and dark pants.

No injuries were reported.
