WEST LAFAYETTE -- Crime tape still surrounds the building where chaos erupted on the Purdue University campus Tuesday afternoon.

Police tell TODAY'S TMJ4 four to five shots were fired in a basement classroom of the electrical engenieering building when Cody Cousins, 23, shot Andrew Boldt, 21.

Investigators on the case believe this was a targeted shooting, but they don't know why Boldt was targeted by Cousins.

While school officials said Tuesday was about physical safety for the students involved, Wednesday was more about emotional healing.

The campus remained closed Wednesday, but classes are expected to resume Thursday.

Mitch Daniels, the president of the University is out of the country on University business. He is expected to return to campus this Wednesday afternoon.

Cousins is expected to make his first court appearance this afternoon, where he is now facing murder charges.
