Police identify victim as would-be robber in fatal north shore shooting

UPDATE 2:24 p.m. -- Fox Point police have identified the victim of Thursday's shooting as 22-year-old Joshua Drake, of Milwaukee. 

According to police, during the course of the robbery, shots were exchanged between a story employee and the robber. The store employee was uninjured, while the robber was killed. The investigation is ongoing.

BAYSIDE - Police remained on the scene Thursday night after an armed robbery at a strip mall in Bayside.

It happened at Innovative Optique, which sells high end eye glass frames costing upwards of $2,500.

One person was shot and killed, but it's not clear who the victim is.

Acting Fox Point Police Chief Christopher Freedy said Police received a 911 around noon.

"There are two people of interest that we are talking to. " Freedy said.

Customers of the store say the owner had been robbed in the past.

Bayside Police, Fox Point Police and the Department of Criminal Investigation are taking part in the investigation.
