Police respond to 'incident' at a Hartford middle school
HARTFORD -- Hartford police were called to Central Middle School, 1100 Cedar St., around 11 a.m. Tuesday after there were reports of a student who allegedly made comments about bringing a weapon to school.
The school went into an administrative hold and secured the building. Before police arrived, administrators recoved the suspected weapon, a plastic AirSoft toy pistol.
A 13-year-old student was removed from the school and taken into custody, according to the Hartford Police Department. The student was later turned over to their parents.
Charges are under review.
There were no injuries and no actual weapon was discovered.
