Police arrest 5 suspects in weekend East Side robberies
MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Police Department has taken five people into custody following three armed robberies on Milwaukee's East Side Saturday morning, according to a news release.
Those arrested include a 19-year-old Milwaukee man, a 21-year-old Milwaukee man, a 21-year-old Greenfield man, a 17-year-old Milwaukee female and an 18-year-old Milwaukee female.
The robberies took place in the 1600 block of N. Astor Street around 2:20 a.m., in the 1700 block of N. Arlington Place around 2:40 a.m. and in the 2500 block of N. Maryland Avenue around 3 a.m.
In all three incidents, at least one of the suspects displayed a handgun while another demanded belongings from the victim, the release said.
Police located the suspects after a witness gave officials a description of the vehicle and the suspects. Upon locating the vehicle, police found the victims' property inside.
