MILWAUKEE -- It was a beautiful day for Easter. Crowds of people attended worship services, and then made their way outdoors to enjoy the weather.

It’s a perfect day for fishing for Ishmeal Ahmad and his wife and son.

8 year old Mason spent the day fishing for blue gill. It’s the first time he and his dad have fished with his mom. Ishmeal tells TODAY’S TMJ4 they’re Muslim.

"So, we actually don't celebrate Easter," explains Ahmad.

Back on the shore, there were plenty of people at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Easter mass is a family reunion for Cristian Sanchez.

“I don't really get to spend a lot of time with my family, so I guess it's like our time together once a year," says Sanchez.

Married couple Sally and Paul were inseparable on this Easter Sunday.

"I would've never dreamed that I could celebrate Easter with someone I truly love,” notes Sally Dziadulewicz.”And I know that God gave up a lot. So he blessed me with him, and I'm just enjoying this day."

Their Easter plans include lunch with Paul’s family, then dinner with hers. Meanwhile, the fish still aren’t biting for Ishmeal Ahmad. His family decided to pack up and move to a better fishing spot.

"It’s a bit of a learning curve for the family, but we're making through," laughs Adhmad.
