WAUWATOSA -- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train in Wauwatosa Thursday morning, according to the Wauwatosa Fire Department.

It happened around 8 a.m. near the tracks at 60th and State Streets.

Authorities did not offer any details on the victim, other than that it was a male.

The signs on the train cars link them to Canadian Pacific Railways. The company had no immediate comment.

The accident occured near the scene of another deadly accident in Feb. 2012 -- at 68th and State Streets -- where an 11-year-old boy was struck and killed. At the time, the boy was wearing a hoodie and earphones and didn't see the train coming when he tried to cross the tracks.
