Standoff in Appleton ends peacefully, children OK
APPLETON - The standoff on South Harmon Street Tuesday night ended peacefully. The suspect turned himself in just before 10:30 p.m. The Police Department posted on Twitter -

Appleton police said late Tuesday night the armed man involved in a standoff with officers released the two children from the home. They were not injured and were reunited with family. Police confirm that the armed man is a relative of the children.
The standoff started around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1300 block of South Harmon Street. Officers say a man with a gun was threatening to do harm. Multiple law enforcement agencies and the swat team have had limited communication with the man. Officers have blocked off South Carpenter Street and East Harrison Street near Reid Municipal Golf Course and are telling neighbors to stay indoors.
