MENOMONEE FALLS - A lightning strike is likely to blame for sparking a house fire in Menomonee Falls.
It happened around 1:30 Monday morning when severe stormed rolled through.

Some neighbors spotted a flash and heard their homes shake.

Minutes later they reported smoke billowing from the roof of this house on the corner of Hummingbird Way and Windrift Pass.

Scott Shaw and his family live just two doors down. He didn't realized what was going on until others in his house woke him up.

"We had a friend staying over and she woke us up to see all the action." Shaw said.

The family who lives in the home that caught fire was not there at the time.

Three Menomonee Falls fire fighters were injured after a section of the roof collapsed.

Officials say they received medical attention and were released.
